Solid curves are calculated angle-integrated yields of escaping 30–100 keV neutrons (before losses due to neutron decay) as a function of the accelerated-ion power-law spectral index for coronal accelerated-ion composition, accelerated 3He/4He = 0, and α/proton = 0.1, 0.2 and 0.5. Dashed curve are the same, but for “impulsive flare” accelerated-ion composition, accelerated α/proton = 0.5 and accelerated 3He/4He = 0.5. All yields are normalized to Np(>30 MeV) = 1.
