Number of objects selected in each of our six fields for z = 6, 7, and 8, from left-to-right. At z = 6–7, the CANDELS Deep and ERS fields dominate the sample. However, at z = 8, due to the decrease in the characteristic magnitude M* and the increased luminosity distance, the deeper HUDF09 fields dominate the sample. The CANDELS Wide field contributes a non-negligible number of galaxies at z = 6, but is not deep enough to contribute significantly at higher redshifts.
