Similar to Figure 1, except for the spectral region near the Al ii line at 1191.8 Å. In GD 40, the aluminum line is stronger than the adjacent iron line; in G241-6, the aluminum line, if real, is weaker than the adjacent iron line. Because iron is more abundant in GD 40 than in G241-6, these spectra directly demonstrate that aluminum is substantially more abundant in GD 40.
