Caption: Figure 5.

Tests of the effects of star spots on the recovered transmission spectrum. Red show the reference case, a spot-free star. Green shows that the star is covered in spots, but the planet does not cross any of them. The difference between the average intensity in the region where the planet transits and the overall intensity is on the order of 0.5%. Blue shows that the planet crosses spots that were identified in the transit light curve and removed from the data set before proceeding with the data analysis. Purple shows that the planet crosses smaller spots that could not be identified in the transit light curve, and thus all exposures were included in the data analysis.
