Tests of the data analysis method with synthetic observations of four different systems. All have the same super Earth but different sizes of host stars (see Table 1). For the two smaller stars (green and red lines), the major spectral features are recovered. For the two larger stars (blue and purple lines), real spectral features can no longer be distinguished from the spurious features.
