Heliocentric distance vs. radial velocity of the eight RRLS with V < 16.5. The solid triangles represent the RRLS of types ab (up) and c (down). The open symbols represent RC (rhombuses) and RGB (pentagon) stars identified with the CMa overdensity Martin et al. (2005). The grayscale shows the distribution of thick disk stars in the surveyed area from the Besançon Galactic model (Robin et al. 2003). The distribution of halo stars in this diagram (not shown) has a broad peak in Vr at ~200 (see Figure 8) and gentle falloff with D ☉.
