All‐sky map of the HVC sky, based on the data of Hulsbosch & Wakker (1988) and Morras et al. (2000). Colors represent LSR velocities, as coded in the wedge. Contour levels are at brightness temperatures of 0.05, 0.25, 0.5, and 1 K. The positions of the clouds discussed in this paper are shown by the thick circles. Note that cloud g1 does not show up in this map because its velocity (+70 km s−1) falls outside the velocity range covered by Hulsbosch & Wakker (1988). Also shown are the locations of the three stars toward which high‐velocity absorption was previously detected.
