Doppler velocities for HD 27442. The rms to the best‐fit Keplerian (solid line) is 2.9 m s−1. The period is 415.2 days, and the semiamplitude is 32.5 m s−1. Assuming the mass of HD 27442 is 1.2 ﹩M_{\odot }﹩, the minimum (﹩M\mathrm{sin}\,i﹩) mass of the companion is 1.35 ﹩M_{\mathrm{J}\,}﹩. The orbit of this planet is similar to the Earth in both semimajor axis, ﹩a=1.16﹩ AU, and eccentricity, ﹩e=0.058﹩. This is the only known planet orbiting beyond 0.15 AU that is in a circular orbit, similar to solar system planets.
