Sample of the template spectra for the main-sequence, low-mass spectral types at solar metallicity ([Fe/H] = 0.0). The spectra are all normalized at 8000 Å, and a constant is added to each template to improve readability. The late-type M and L stars have different scales because most of their flux is concentrated redward of 8000 Å, where the normalization occurs. We therefore put them on a separate set of axes, so they would not dominate the other low-mass stars. All of the low-temperature templates are available in FITS format in the online journal as data behind the figure. The data used to create this figure are available.
