Starlink satellites visible from London (52N) in winter vs. time of night. Number above the horizon (left); number above 3° elevation (right). Vertical lines indicate the times at which the Sun reaches elevations 0°, −6°, −12°, and −18° for the ground observer. The sky should be free of naked-eye satellites in the middle of the night, but there will up to 200 near the horizon during twilight.
