Numerical evolution of a representative system of S0–2 orbiting an inner binary with m_c = 10⁴ M_⊙, including both quadrupole and octupole perturbations. We set the initial values a_c = 100 au, Ω_⋆ = i_⋆ = 45^o, e_c = 0.9, and e_⋆ = 0.88. Note the effect of the octupole level of approximation (Naoz et al. 2013a), which results in negative dΩ/dt.
