Caption: Figure 5.

Rest-frame color (J = 1.22 μm and V = 0.55 μm) vs. demagnified rest-frame luminosity at 1.22 μm for our JWST sample with Lν(1.22 μm) > 1027 erg s−1 Hz−1 in four redshift intervals (black circles). We overlay the sources with >4.5σ ALMA detections (see Table 1) with filled purple squares, LRDs (J. E. Greene et al. 2024; D. D. Kocevski et al. 2025; I. Labbe et al. 2025) with red circles, and bright X-ray sources with green triangles. We enclose compact sources with FWHM ﹩\lt 0\mathop{.}\limits^{^{\prime\prime} }172﹩ in open diamonds. The horizontal line denotes our red selection (fJ/fV> 3), and the vertical line shows Lν(1.22 μm) = 3.6 × 1029 erg s−1 Hz−1, which corresponds to a stellar mass of M = 1010 M. The uncertainties are smaller than the symbol sizes.
