The left panel shows the observed image of the full trail, the middle panel shows the image after subtracting the reconstructed model, and the right panel shows the residual distribution. The residual rms is computed within the region extending to 2.5 FWHM from the fitted trail. The resulting residual rms is 17.908 counts, slightly higher than the sky-background rms of 17.066 counts.
