Residual rms as a function of aperture radius after applying the amplitude correction based on the Fourier-series fit to the original trailed image. For each aperture radius, the aperture-photometry light curve was rescaled to match the reference amplitude, and the corresponding model image was subtracted from the observed image. The dashed vertical line marks the aperture radius with the minimum residual rms.
