A figure illustrating the oblate shape of G2 with gravity darkening. The flattening (Req/Rpol) is ∼1.3, assuming that the mass is 0.7 M⊙, r sini = 3.1 R⊙, v sini = 130 km s−1, and i = 60°. The gravity-darkening exponent is β = 0.16, as derived by F. Espinosa Lara & M. Rieutord (2011). The mass and inclination are the most uncertain parameters. For these parameters, log gpole = 3.40 and log geq = 2.57. This can be compared to the (uncertain) measurement of g ∼ 3.6 (see Section 6.3).
