A simulation to study sub-aperturing. The entrance aperture is a narrow ring in the blue plane. The gray plane indicates the simplified mirror model. Diffraction gratings (red, green, and blue) as well as detectors (yellow, in the top right corner) are placed in the Rowland Torus (red surface). Lines are 1 keV rays, which are colored to match the grating they pass through. For visibility, only a few hundred rays are shown.
