Caption: Figure 1.

Left: The angular separation between paired entries from HyperLEDA, GLADE and WISE, and between paired entries from the LV and HyperLEDA samples as a function of revised luminosity distance. The dashed and solid black lines mark angular extents of 10% and 30%, respectively, of the diameter of the Milky Way placed at a given distance, limited to 5′ at small distances and to 3″ at large distances. The hashed region, encompassing a cluster of entries separated by ∼20″ at revised distances beyond 100 Mpc, is excluded in the present study. Right: the distributions of the angular separation between paired entries retained in the present study.
