Velocity profile of the ejecta at d* = 1 (soon after the shock emerges from the stellar envelope) is plotted in units of the escape velocity for three different initial explosion energies. The shaded region shows the initial BH mass. The subsequent growth of the BH depends on the amount of fallback material, which in turn depends strongly on the energy injected. The dashed lines show the current mass of the BH for different explosion energies.
