Left panel: Gaia DR2 proper motions of the primary star (blue) and stars within a radius of 10′ (brown), compared with the PS1 proper motion of the companion (since it has no Gaia DR2 detection) shown as a red open symbol. The nearby Gaia DR2 stars are all background with parallaxes smaller than the primary by at least 14 mas. Right panel: PS1 proper motions of the primary, the companion, and stars within a radius of 10′. These two diagrams validate the association between the primary and the companion, as they both have significant southward motion as opposed to the other stars in the field.
