Plots of the luminosity‐weighted mean line‐of‐sight velocity as a function of the luminosity‐weighted mean position along the slit for both NGC 2523 and NGC 4245. The best‐fitting regression lines weighted by the errors in ﹩\langle V\rangle ﹩ are also shown. The slope of the regression line gives the pattern speed as a function of the galaxy’s inclination.
