Representative yearly averaged wind speed at 1 AU as a function of latitude at four different phases of the solar cycle: maximum, minimum, rising, and declining. The 1 AU speeds are calculated from Wang & Sheeley’s model using the photospheric field maps observed from WSO, MWO, and NSO as input.
