Comparison between the HUT spectrum of Z Cam (black) and a model spectrum (gray) calculated using a prescription for the wind geometry similar to that suggested by Knigge et al. (1997). The model has been smoothed slightly to reflect the resolution of HUT. Some of the stronger lines, including the Lyman series of H, are labeled. The regions near strong features at 1304 and 1356 Å may have been affected by airglow lines.
