Histograms showing the distribution of blue absolute magnitude for (a) the 1128 Hα‐selected KISS ELGs and (b) the 486 "normal" galaxies from the CGCG that are located in the same area of the sky. The median luminosity of each sample is indicated. The KISS ELG sample is made up of predominantly intermediate‐luminosity and lower luminosity galaxies, making this line‐selected sample particularly powerful for studying dwarf galaxies.
