ASCA light curves of XB 1916−053, folded on the 3008 s recurrence period of the dip, into 100 30 s bins. Since there is no long‐term ephemeris for this period, the epoch of phase 0.0 is arbitrary. The deepest part of the primary dip is roughly at phase 0.9 (HJD 2449110.2645). Each panel shows 1.5 cycles of data. Top: GIS‐combined light curve. Bottom: Number of different orbital cycles that are included in each phase bin.
