Observed energy distribution of some of the quasars in our sample vs. two accretion disk spectra. The disk models are for a rotating black hole, α = 0.1, and viscous stress ∝ (Pgas Prad)1/2 (the other parameters are indicated). Note that although significant soft X‐ray flux can be produced by the thin‐disk models, the spectral slope is always much steeper than observed.
