Perspective views of the final settled avalanches for 1000 μT field strength in HS-NS 3:1 case (a) before avalanche, and (b) after avalanche, and HS case (c) before avalanche, and (d) after avalanche. Particle colors are based on material type: magenta for non-susceptible and green for high-susceptible. The yellow color is used for the floor particles, which are highly susceptible in this case. Red circles show key characteristics discussed in the text. Red particles in panels (c)–(d) show the particles that moved during the avalanche. Both cases show some particles bulging out, but the bulk remains plastic. This behavior could lead to the formation of hanging boulders and overhangs on Psyche’s surface.
