Examples of Gemini North/GMOS spectra for two background galaxies that were selected as eUCD candidates. These objects show strong emission lines, including Hβ and [O III] at a redshift of z  ∼  0.1. The right panels show the 15″ × 15″ ﹩{g}^{{\prime} }﹩-band NGVS imaging and contours for each object. Although both objects show extended envelopes that resemble eUCDs, such structures probably arise from an unresolved bulge and disk structure.
