The Cerenkov light pool emitted below the camera is marked in solid black. The projected additional shadows (green) depend on the impact distance and the focal distance F of the camera; nevertheless, the total shadow adds up to exactly the length of the chord, using Equation (38). Note that the Cerenkov angle has been exaggerated for better visibility.
