Schematic illustration of the impact between an asteroid and a magnetar. The asteroid gets elongated after entering Rb and further accreted along field lines within RA. An instant accretion column is formed after collision onto the magnetar surface, producing a Comptonized X-ray burst and an FRB in the magnetosphere.
