Schematic representation of the induced magnetosphere of Venus (not to scale). The typical subsolar BS location is around 1.5RV, while at the terminator, near 2RV, where 1RV = 6052 km, the radius of Venus (L. Shan et al. 2015). The IMB altitude is about 500 km near the subsolar region and above 1000 km near the terminator (Q. Xu et al. 2021). The ionosphere generally extends up to an altitude of about 500 km (C. M. Fowler et al. 2024). The gyroradius of energetic heavy ions can reach up to hundreds of kilometers (J. G. Luhmann et al. 2006).
