Caption: Figure 2.

Telluric-corrected K-band spectrum of BD+44°493. Wavelengths are in vacuum, and no shift to the rest frame of BD+44°493 has been applied. A nominal atmospheric spectrum for Gemini North is overplotted in red. Metal absorption lines are indicated by vertical blue dashed lines, and their corresponding IDs are given at the top. The deep absorption features at 1.945 and 2.166 μm are the Br lines in the spectrum of BD+44°493. The shallow dip seen in the red wing of the Br γ line is a residual from the telluric correction procedure and is due to Br γ absorption in the spectrum of the telluric standard.
