Caption: Figure 1.

V-band grayscale image with white contours of VLA 21 cm emission and red contours of Chandra soft X-ray band emission of NGC 7479. The VLA 21 cm B-configuration radio continuum emission is shown with contours at 1.5 × 10−4 × (3, 4, 6, 8, 10, 16, 24, 30) Jy beam−1. The VLA beam size (4﹩\mathop{.}\limits^{^{\prime\prime} }﹩30 × 3﹩\mathop{.}\limits^{^{\prime\prime} }﹩85, position angle −19°) is shown with the black ellipse in the lower left corner. The soft X-ray emission from archival Chandra X-ray Observatory data is shown with contours in arbitrary units. The V-band image was taken with the Isaac Newton Telescope’s Prime Focus Cone Unit using 600 s exposures on 1994 September 22. An unrelated VLA background point source about 30″ to the east of the nucleus was removed in the u − v space before imaging.
