The figure shows the combined effects of the proper motion and parallax of Vega as a function of time since NIRCam’s initial observation on 2023 August 19. The initial epoch and two future epochs within JWST’s availability window are marked. Even a year after these initial observations the position offset relative to the initial observation will be >250 mas and easily detectable.
