Raw (gray‐scale) and PSF‐subtracted (pseudocolor) ﹩20^{\prime \prime }\times 20^{\prime \prime }﹩ fields centered on HD 163926 in the spacecraft frame for two of the three spacecraft orientations observed on 1998 September 2‐3, with CCD columns and the wedge A structure oriented at P.A.=25﹩\fdg﹩0556 and 51﹩\fdg﹩0556. Structure in the HST+STIS PSF dominates the raw images (a), (c), including diffraction spikes at ~±45°, high‐contrast features below the star, and radial stripes due to differences in the PSF introduced by spacecraft focus changes between the epoch of the science and PSF calibrator observations. A radial spike at 73° was present in the HD 163296 images, but not in the calibration data, and is visible in the net images (b), (d) as a bright streak. The lack of rotation between observations indicates that it is an instrumental artifact and not a feature of the HD 163296 environment.
