Spitzer-IRS spectrum of IS Tau. At the top are also indicated the positions of the strongest mineral features expected in submicron dust grains, calculated from optical constants for α quartz (Wenrich & Christensen 1996), orthoenstatite (Jaeger et al. 1998), and forsterite (Fabian et al. 2001). At bottom, for comparison, is an ISO SWS spectrum of comet Hale-Bopp (Crovisier et al. 1997).
