Maps of the S/N of PSRs J0437−4715 (top left), J0030+0451 (top right), J1231−1411 (bottom left), and J2124−3358 (bottom right) as a function of the NICER pointing as a function of the NICER pointing, for texp = 106′s (see Equation (3)). The green star indicates the pulsar position, and the red circle shows the calculated optimal pointing position that maximizes the S/N. For PSRs J0437−4715, the pointing offset is 1.′5 from the pulsar to minimize contamination by the active galactic nucleus RX J0437.4−4711, and for PSR J2124−3358 the pointing offset is 1′.
