All braking indices where the long-term electrodynamic spin-down is believed to be dominant. The gray dotted line indicates a braking index of three, that which is expected for a pure magnetic dipole. For PSR J1846−0258 (Archibald et al. 2015) and PSR J1119−6127 (Antonopoulou et al. 2015), where the braking index changed following glitches, the gray arrows indicate the direction of change following the glitch. All other braking indices are from Lyne et al. (2015 and references therein).
