Projection of the mass density squared of the shocked ejecta at several times: 1 yr, 100 yr, 500 yr, 1000 yr, 2000 yr, 4000 yr after the explosion, along three different axes (principal axes x, y, z, of the simulation box). The box size at each time is the same as in the previous figure. Note that the color scale is shared by the three slices but is adjusted independently at each time. An animated version of this figure is available online, showing the evolution from 1 yr to 4000 yr by steps of 1 yr (the duration is 1 minute 20 s). The first plot is a color-coded mask to aid in identifying the origin of the features: red = regular ejecta, green cone = shadow from the companion, blue cylinder = tail from the first detonation. These masks are only shown at t = 1 yr as they are mildly evolving over time.
