Hardness intensity plot for 2.3 ksec observation of GRS 1915+105 in 0.25 s time bin. About 20% of the total points are shown for clarity. In the top panel, the hardness is defined as the count rate ratio between 8–15 and 3–8 keV bands, while the intensity is the total count rate in the 3–15 keV band. In the bottom panel, the ratio is similarly defined for 3–15 and 15–40 keV and the total intensity in the 3–40 keV band. The red points are the average values at a given intensity. The source clearly shows increasing hardness with intensity in both soft and hard bands.
