Luminance clear-filter very deep image of M94 (NGC4736) obtained with the BBRO 0.5 m telescope. The total exposure time of the image was 555 minutes. The image size is 27 7 × 18 2. North is up and east is left. For illustrative purpose, a color image of the central part of the galaxy obtained with the same telescope has been superimposed on the inner (saturated) disk region of the galaxy. It is worth stressing that the traditional ("textbook") picture of M94 is just what it is shown in color here.
