Continuum-normalized APOGEE spectra as a function of stellar surface temperature for typical APOGEE main survey RGB stars of near-solar abundance. The stellar atmospheric parameters given for each spectrum are those derived in Data Release 12 (DR12). At the bottom, Brackett hydrogen lines are identified; these lines show the clear trend of increasing strength for increasing temperature.
