Distribution of projected separations of ejected BD binaries. The figure shows the distribution for 9209 BD binaries at 1 Myr. The distribution has a broad peak between 2 and 20 AU (indicated by the vertical dotted lines), in which interval 35% of the ejected BD binaries can be found. No binary has a projected separation larger than 250 AU. Wider systems are common, but in that case they are (or have been) triple systems.
