Ratio of He ii λ5411 equivalent width to He i λ58676 EW vs. spectral class/temperature for early-type stars from the Jacoby et al. (1984, J84) spectral atlas (upper ordinate) and the Tlusty (Lanz & Hubeny 2003) model atmospheres (lower ordinate), for both luminosity class V (dwarf) and III (giant) stars, as indicated by the legend. The dashed line shows the third-order polynomial fit to the luminosity class V models and spectral atlas stars, as described by the equation. Star A has a ratio EW(He ii λ5411)/EW(He i λ5876) <0.14, indicating a spectral type later than B0.
