Paα emission from HST (Marconi et al. 2000), overlaid with contours representing our heavily smoothed (10 pixel Gaussian =0.89﹩\arcsec﹩) mid‐IR data at 8.8 μm (left) and 18.3 μm (right). Contours are logarithmic with a factor of 1.66 (8.8 μm) and 2.11 (18.3 μm) between them. The lowest contours represent 2 σ above the smoothed background (0.006 mJy pixel−1 at 8.8 μm and 0.066 mJy pixel−1 at 18.3 μm). Letters represent the bright Paα emission regions detected by Schreier et al. (1998). The dotted line represents the approximate angle of the radio jet axis (﹩\mathrm{P.A.}\,=53^{\circ }﹩).
