Dereddened (﹩m_{\mathrm{FUV}\,}-V﹩) histogram for (a) all M87 clusters detected in both the optical and far‐UV and (b) brighter clusters only, with ﹩V_{0}< 22﹩. For comparison, the ﹩( \mathrm{FUV}\,-V) _{0}﹩ histogram for Milky Way GCs compiled by DOR95, but updated with the new ﹩E( B-V) ﹩ values listed in Harris (1996), is plotted (hatched histograms). Bin sizes are 0.2 mag for all distributions. The cluster 47 Tuc is the reddest plotted. Compared to the Milky Way sample, the M87 samples are strongly shifted to bluer colors.
