VLA continuum maps of the Einstein ring system B0218+357 made from our A–array data taken on 1995 August 24. The top panel shows the 14.1 GHz map with contour levels of −1, 1, 2, 4, 8, 16, 32, 64, and 128 × 7.8 mJy beam−1. The letters A and B identify the two compact components. The bottom panel shows our 8.6 GHz map with −1, 1, 2, 4, 8, 16, 32, 64, 128, 256, 512, and 1024 × 0.74 mJy beam−1 contours. For both maps, the lowest contour line corresponds to 3 times the rms noise level, and the negative contour is drawn as a dotted line. The restoring beams, indicated in the lower right‐hand corner of each panel, have FWHM sizes of 0﹩\farcs﹩12 and 0﹩\farcs﹩20, respectively. Coordinate offsets are relative to the phase center position given in the text.
