Wide‐field image of NGC 253 at 20 cm. Contour levels are at −1, 1, 1.4, 2, 2.8, 4, 8, 16, 64, and 256 times 300 μJy beam⁻¹; no negative contours are present in the image. The peak flux density is 271 mJy beam⁻¹, and the restoring beam of ﹩2\farcs 77\times 1\farcs 72﹩ in position angle 7° is indicated by the minuscule ellipse in the lower left‐hand corner. X‐ray sources detected by the ROSAT HRI (Vogler & Pietsch 1999) are indicated as plus signs, with the sizes of the plus signs showing their positional uncertainty.
