The left panel plots orbital period versus eccentricity at the time when Betelgeuse becomes an RSG, colored by log scaled natal kick strength. The red point shows the binary properties proposed by J. A. Goldberg et al. (2024). Systems with Porb. > 105 days were omitted. The two right panels show histograms of systemic velocities and natal kick strengths of all systems, with orange lines marking the relative placement of the circularizing systems.
