The effect of observational resolution on vortex detection. Lensed images for the Ω = 2.82 deg Myr−1 case are shown with PSF FWHM of 1 mas (left), 10 mas (center), and 70 mas (right), respectively. The vortex-induced flux anomalies are clearly resolved at 1 mas (typical of VLBI) but are washed out at 70 mas (typical of HST optical imaging).
