Comparison of science recovery using SCP and SOP calibration. (a) Weak-signal regime (m = 0.07, RM = −7.8 rad m−2). The hybrid-induced phase slope dominates, producing a significant RM bias and even a sign reversal. (b) High-signal regime (m = 0.47, RM = 64.6 rad m−2). While the recovered RM slope converges more closely to the true value, the fractional polarization m (bottom panel) exhibits vector-interference oscillations. In both cases, the SCP solution (magenta) fails to recover the intrinsic behavior, whereas the SOP solution (green) accurately reproduces the true signal.
